European Union in the multipolar world. Threats and challenges in the XXI
century.
Nowadays, European Union is in the center of the economic
crisis and faces many different problems, most importantly unemployment,
political and social instability, growing nationalism and general
need for change. The resulting question is, what
does this change mean, whether it is the strengthening of the EU by making the
ties between member states closer, towards federalism or whether the expansion
or rebuilding of the transnational institutions? The answer to this question is
crucial in the process of establishing the EU`s position in the world and
its
global influence. The proposed
conference gives the possibility to discuss the EU relations with the main
international actors, its place in the global order and participation in its
re-creation, as well as investigate the level of the member states policies
impact
on the above matters.
Fortunately for researchers, there are far more questions
than we can even think of or write here, so we hope that during the conference
we will put on the table, as many of them as possible. We would like to discuss
the main subject in the following areas: politics, economy, social aspects and
combination in an interdisciplinary combination.
The conditions of participation
1. The conference is organized by the European
Department, Institute of Political Studies, Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw
and The Faculty of Economics and Management, Lazarski University in Warsaw. The
conference will take place in the Lazarski University Campus on the 19th
of April 2012.
2. The conference fee is 100 Euro.
The fee covers meal and coffee brakes during the conference, publication
of the article in the peer review book (after the acceptance of the editing
board and positive opinion of the reviewer), the quarterly “Economic and
Political Thought”.
3. The deadline for the application is 17th of
March 2012.
4. On the 27th of March the detailed
program of the conference will be send to all the participants.
